Mirror, mirror on the wall,
Who is the fairest of them all?
Fans of the Lunar Chronicles know Queen Levana as a ruler who uses her “glamour” to gain power. But long before she crossed paths with Cinder, Scarlet, and Cress, Levana lived a very different story – a story that has never been told . . . until now.
Marissa Meyer spins yet another unforgettable tale about love and war, deceit and death. This extraordinary book includes full-color art and an excerpt from Winter, the next book in the Lunar Chronicles series.
Fairest was one of those books I pretty much forgot about after it was released, so it did take me a very long time to get around to reading, but I am very glad that I finally read it this month. Of course I did give this a low rating, because I felt a little eh while reading it.
I did enjoy:
- Levana’s story
- Learning more about this villain
- Finding out exactly why she became the villain we all know in the Lunar Chronicles
Now the stuff I did not really enjoy are pretty much the way Levana acted every time Winter was mentioned. I found her a little whiny but hey it is a novella and a small backstory so it really doesn’t matter. All that matters is how much I enjoyed the novel.
