Where do I even begin? In my opinion, I think this book was better than the first one. I just loved how it had a lot more action and I got to see my two favorite characters spark up a little romance between each other. It’s still sad that this is the last book in this duology, but, I am just thankful these characters exists. If I was having a terrible day and didn’t have anything new to read, I would definitely pick this book up again.

25494343In a kingdom by the sea…

In a secret world where half-angel warriors are sworn to fight demons, parabatai is a sacred word.

A parabatai is your partner in battle. A parabatai is your best friend. Parabatai can be everything to each other—but they can never fall in love.

Emma Carstairs is a warrior, a Shadowhunter, and the best in her generation. She lives for battle. Shoulder to shoulder with her parabatai, Julian Blackthorn, she patrols the streets of Los Angeles, where vampires party on the Sunset Strip, and faeries—the most powerful of supernatural creatures—teeter on the edge of open war with Shadowhunters. When the bodies of humans and faeries turn up murdered in the same way Emma’s parents were when she was a child, an uneasy alliance is formed. This is Emma’s chance for revenge—and Julian’s chance to get back his brother Mark, who is being held prisoner by the faerie Courts. All Emma, Mark, and Julian have to do is solve the murders within two weeks…and before the murderer targets them.

Their search takes Emma from sea caves full of sorcery to a dark lottery where death is dispensed. And each clue she unravels uncovers more secrets. What has Julian been hiding from her all these years? Why does Shadowhunter Law forbid parabatai to fall in love? Who really killed her parents—and can she bear to know the truth?

xo-wendyI mean, who wouldn’t be grateful for this beautiful book? Lady Midnight was my anticipated read of 2016. Everything about it was beautiful. I can’t wait to read the sequel next year.

24909485High school can be hell.

Cam knows what it’s like to be haunted. He’s spent more time in Hell than any angel ever should. And his freshest Hell is high school, where Lilith, the girl he can’t stop loving, is serving out a punishment for his crimes.

Cam made a bet with Lucifer: he has fifteen days to convince the only girl who really matters to him to love him again. If he succeeds, Lilith will be allowed back into the world, and they can live their lives together. But if he fails…there’s a special place in Hell just for him.

Tick-tock.

The Fallen books were my favorite when I was hitting my teen years. Both my sister and I actually read this series at the same time and shared the books with each other (reason why I don’t own the full series), so, going into this book last year was like going back into time. It made me fall more in love with Cam all over again. Of course, I did not read this book in 2016, although, I am still grateful to own it and have read it.

17927395Feyre survived Amarantha’s clutches to return to the Spring Court—but at a steep cost. Though she now has the powers of the High Fae, her heart remains human, and it can’t forget the terrible deeds she performed to save Tamlin’s people.

Nor has Feyre forgotten her bargain with Rhysand, High Lord of the feared Night Court. As Feyre navigates its dark web of politics, passion, and dazzling power, a greater evil looms—and she might be key to stopping it. But only if she can harness her harrowing gifts, heal her fractured soul, and decide how she wishes to shape her future—and the future of a world cleaved in two.

With more than a million copies sold of her beloved Throne of Glass series, Sarah J. Maas’s masterful storytelling brings this second book in her seductive and action-packed series to new heights.

Okay, this book! Can we at least take a second to appreciate this beautiful piece of art? A Court of Mist and Fury was 10x 20x better than A Court of Thorns and Roses! Don’t get me wrong, I absolutely adored the first book, but this one was way better in detail (*inserts a wink emoji*) and plot. It left me lost for words when I got to the last page.

Another amazing book that left me speechless in the end. Sarah J. Maas is my queen when it comes to her work. Everything about Empire of Storms was breathtaking. Every word that was printed on each page took my breath away and made my heart beat faster than the normal rate.
