The long path to the throne has only just begun for Aelin Galathynius. Loyalties have been broken and bought, friends have been lost and gained, and those who possess magic find themselves at odds with those who don’t.
As the kingdoms of Erilea fracture around her, enemies must become allies if Aelin is to keep those she loves from falling to the dark forces poised to claim her world. With war looming on all horizons, the only chance for salvation lies in a desperate quest that may mark the end of everything Aelin holds dear.
This book was . . . no words can describe how amazing it was. No, wait. It was beautiful and so much more. Empire of Storms was definitely 10x better than Queen of Shadows. Not because this book slowly leans towards NA with a few scenes, but just because there are a lot of character development in this book. I’m not even kidding. Most of the characters have grown so much since the very first book and it literally makes my heart happy.
I tried my best to take my time on this book knowing that it is the second to last in the series, but that did not happen at all with me. I flew through this beautiful book in roughly two weeks, I can’t remember. All I remember is that my heart was in pain through most of it – a good kind of pain, obviously.
